Helpdesk Application Support Specialist We are looking for a Helpdesk / application support specialist for an interim position within a producer of building materials. The headoffice is based in the USA. The company controls its european business from an office in Amsterdam. Sales in Europe are mainly in UK, France, Netherlands and Scandinavia. Job Description
Helpdesk /Application Support The requirement is for a person to be front line support for the head office and remote sales teams in UK and France. Most daily activities will involve resolving user problems with Office applications and laptop/desktop and printing issues. Additionally it would be a bonus if the candidate had an interest in programming (VB6/VB.Net, C#, ASP.NET) to help support the in house custom developments and would like to learn more in this area. The candidate should be very familiar with MS Office applications, particularly Excel (Macro's, Formula's & VBA), and if possible Sharepoint. Responsibilities: This person will support the existing and future hardware and software infrastructure in our European division. They run Microsoft Win 2003 Server, Exchange 2003 server, Win XP professional workstations, MS office 2003. The position will be required to support all the following. - Support the users computing needs - Support MS Office ( Word, Excel, Access ), including Macro's, Formula's and preferably Forms (VBA) - Support printing issues - Software and Data Backups. - Install client applications. - Upgrade PC hardware and software. - Work closely with departmental managers and with the US based IT Manager to provide a very high uptime of the IT infrastructure. - Educate the users on how to best use the computers. - This position will also involve close coordination with the US technical support desk for problems related to application software. - The position also requires contact with various members of the organization at all levels and outside vendors in the identification of system problems or requirements. - Ability to work with telecommunication vendors to identify and solve problems. - This position reports directly to the IT Team Leader based in Amsterdam.

Job Requirements
Requirements: - 2-3 years experience supporting Microsoft applications, in an international (preferably American) environment. - Preferred MCP certifications. - Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs of equipments unassisted. - Crawling under desk to hook up equipment. - English at mother tongue level and fluent French is a big ‘plus’. Preferred additional skill set: - Knowledge of Visual basic (v6 or .Net) - ASP.NET (C#) and (IIS) support. Soft Skills - Effective time management and multi-tasking skills - Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing - Problem solving skills - Knowledge of available resources (e.g. MSDN, TechNet, Training Courses, TechEd, MSJ, etc) - Demonstrated ability to prioritize work effort based on business priority and cost parameters - Professional, service-oriented team player - Service oriented and flexible person.
